Compact, powerful, efficient - tried and tested

March 30, 2010

Evolution power supplies from Murrelektronik are compact, powerful and efficient. Our experience proves that Evolution is extremely reliable in a large number of applications. They enable high machine availability.

Evolution units are available from 5 to 40 A. The output voltages are adjustable from 22 to 28 V DC. Evolution power supplies are suitable for worldwide use. They feature a wide nominal input voltage range from 3 x 324 to 520 V AC or 480 to 745 V DC - with the required additional tolerance of 10 percent, of course.

The temperature ranges these power supplies can handle are incredible: they can be operated from minus 25 to 70 degrees Celsius without any problems. The extra power function gives a 50% power boost for a period of up to four seconds - this is useful for the start-up of motors or for high capacitive loads. Even if one phase fails, continuous 2-phase operation is still possible. Because of its very short reaction time, Evolution is ready for operation after a period of only about 600 milliseconds.

Evolution power supplies are compact. Innovative cooling fins ensure reliable heat dissipation and also act as the housing of the unit. This makes the power supplies suitable for installations in small control cabinets. They can be conveniently mounted on DIN rails. For disassembly, they can be easily reached with the hand from above.

Evolution power supplies has cCSAus approval, which makes them suitable for the American and Canadian markets. Furthermore, the meet the Semi F47 standard. They ensure a stable output voltage even with voltage peaks. Evolution has a very low interference emission and meet the EN 55022B standard (interference emission, class B). The units have a consistent or sinusoidal power consumption and fulfil the requirements of the demanding EN 61000-3-2 (PFC) standard. This makes Evolution suitable for applications in residential areas.
